The Zone Academy uplifts Tulsa’s youth through tech education, mentorship, and real-world readiness. With a 19+ year presence in North Tulsa as one of the longest 21st Century Community Learning Centers in the country, The Zone Academy has served over 2,000 students through its immersive programming, helping young people gain the skills, confidence, and exposure needed to thrive in modern careers.
The History
Twenty years ago, Kujanga Jackson moved from Englewood, California, to Tulsa and began volunteering as a classroom tutor, quickly realizing many students struggled to see possibilities beyond their immediate surroundings. Driven by the belief “you can’t be what you can’t see,” he started creating opportunities for young people to connect with mentors and real-world experiences. That vision grew into The Zone Academy, a place where students are inspired to imagine, believe, and build brighter futures.
The Mission
We use some of the most innovative and immersive technology in the world to engage our students in grades K–12 through extended learning programs. We work hard to ensure our students are ready for school, ready for work, and ready for life! From streaming NBA G-league games to studying athlete performance and participating in cutting-edge neurotraining, Zone students experience hands-on learning that connects education, technology, and real-world inspiration.
